AP Top 25 poll: Florida State surges back into top 15 after beating Miami
The latest college football rankings feature a big move for the Seminoles
Alabama Crimson Tide , Ohio State Buckeyes , Clemson Tigers and Michigan Wolverines all took care of business in Week 6, but now that crew of heavyweights we have become used to seeing at the top has a newcomer in the surgingWashington Huskies .
Washington's 6-0 start includes wins against both recent Pac-12 North Division winners, creating a two-game lead on both teams for a spot in the Pac-12 title game and causing fans to start comparing this team to Don James' national championship season in 1991. The Huskies still have plenty of conference play left, including an Apple Cup showdown with Washington State Cougars , but at the moment it seems like the preseason hype has been validated in Seattle. Stanford Cardinal , once as high as No. 7 in the AP Top 25, fell completely out of the poll.
Houston Cougars , Tennessee Volunteers and Miami were not able to make it through the weekend undefeated, all falling in tight conference contests that caused a slight drop in polls (or none at all) though no consensus of voters -- including in the CBS Sports 128 rankings -- is ready to give up on any of these teams as one of the top 25 in the country.
While the Hurricanes fell to No. 16, Florida State Seminoles made one of the biggest moves this week, moving up nine spots to No. 14.
