Learn how to get your website appear in search engines such as Google and Bing with a few simple steps. 

What is SEO?

SEO stands for search engine optimization, which is the process of getting your website to show up naturally on search engines results without having to pay for it.

The earlier your website stands in the list of search results, the higher are the chances that your site will gain new visitors. Your websites SEO is combined from the titles, descriptions and general data that you've added there.

Submitting your URL to Google and Bing search engines

When you have created a brand new website there is no way anybody, even search engines like Google, can know about it. If you feel ready to make your site discoverable by search engines the easiest way is to use Google Add URLand Bing URL Submission services. But we recommend using Google Webmaster Tools, a free service that gives you more control about how search engines see your site.

Setting up Google Webmaster Tools with Voog

Log in to Google Webmaster Tools  https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/  (you need a Google account to do this). Add the address of your site (www.mycompany.com) to your account. When the address is added, Google asks for verification from you to confirm that you really are the site owner. You have to choose 'HTML file' as the verification method, which gives you a code looking something like this:"googlef52f1d814b8972e9.html".

You can add the verification code to your site in the 'Settings > General' and add it to the Google Webmaster Tools line.

How do I remove my site or page from Google search results?

Google might have indexed your website the way you don't want it. Or, Google might show links to a page on your website, which is actually already deleted by you.

You can ask Google to remove these results by using Google Webmaster Tools. More information can be found from our blog post how to remove your website or web page from Google.

Setting up Bing Webmaster Tools

Where can I log in or sign up to my Bing account?

You can set up your Bing Webmaster Tools account by either logging in or signing up with an Microsoft account at http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster.

How can I add my website to my Bing Webmaster account?

Simply add your website at Bing by first entering your site into the '€˜Add a Site' input box and then clicking '€˜Add'.

You can verify your website with the CNAME option by adding the CNAME record to your domains DNS.

Once the CNAME record has been successfully added to your DNS settings, you can confirm it at the Bing Webmaster Tools website by clicking '€˜Verify'. 

In addition, a green message will let you know that the website has been connected with your Bing Webmaster account. In case you get a red text saying that your website couldn't be verified, please give it some more time to take effect.
